The eligible institutions within the university include AgroParisTech, CentraleSupélec, Ecole Normale Supérieure Paris-Saclay (ENS Paris-Saclay), INSTN-CEA, Institut d’Optique Graduate School (IOGS), and several others.
Scholarship Duration and Renewal
Scholarships can be awarded for one or two years, contingent upon the student’s admission level (M1 or M2) and the successful completion of necessary credits for progression to subsequent academic years.

Detailed Application Timeline

Pre-selection Process
Admission to a Master’s program at Paris-Saclay does not guarantee a scholarship. Candidates eligible for the scholarship will be chosen by the admission panel from those admitted to the Master’s programs.
Application Procedure
- Invitation to Apply: Only candidates who receive an invitation via email from Paris-Saclay University are eligible to apply for the scholarship.
- Referee Recommendations: Candidates must provide contact details for two referees who will be asked to submit recommendations through an online form.
- Completion of Application: The application is deemed complete once both referees have submitted their recommendations. It is the candidate’s responsibility to ensure all forms are submitted by the stipulated deadline.
Eligibility Criteria
Eligibility for the Paris-Saclay University IDEX scholarship is defined under several criteria, including:
- Admission to a master’s program at one of the affiliated institutions.
- International students studying in France for the first time.
- Candidates must be aged 30 or under during the selection year.
Certain conditions also apply to students of foreign nationality living in France for less than a year, those engaged in non-degree courses or internships, and students who have previously participated in mobility programs in France.
Exclusions from Eligibility
Students who do not meet the eligibility criteria include:
- Those enrolled in a French higher education institution during their studies, except as specified.
- Students who have interrupted their studies for more than three consecutive years.
- Students receiving funding exceeding 600€ per month from other sources.
Special Provisions
In collaboration with UNHCR and the MEnS association, Paris-Saclay University offers additional support for refugee students or those with subsidiary protection.
Scholarship Benefits
The scholarship grants 10,000€ per year for ten months and may include up to 1,000€ for travel and visa expenses. The scholarship and any travel allowances are payable upon the student’s arrival and registration in France.
Attendance and Mobility Rules
Scholarship recipients are required to adhere strictly to the academic schedule of their specific program. Scholarships may be suspended for non-compliance or if the student engages in non-compulsory mobility outside of the prescribed institutions.
Internship Guidelines
Internships are encouraged within Paris-Saclay University research labs. Scholarships may be reduced or suspended for internships outside these parameters, especially if the internship wages exceed 1,000€ per month.
Conclusion and Results
Candidates will receive decisions via email and must respond within eight days to accept or decline the scholarship. Université Paris-Saclay holds the right to withdraw a scholarship if any provided information is found to be falsified.
